If you visit in May, you can witness the waterfalls at their strongest, along with the beautiful wildflowers blooming throughout the park.

During summer, temperatures can soar up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit, making it difficult to enjoy the beauty of this place. Fortunately, springtime temperatures are much more pleasant, and the wildflowers that bloom during this time make it even more enchanting.

If you’re planning to visit Death Valley National Park, Furnace Creek is an excellent campground that can fit larger RVs. However, it doesn’t offer any sort of hookups, so it’s important to come prepared.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is another beautiful place to visit in spring, where you can witness a variety of wildflowers and lush greenery that bring the forests of the park to life. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a bear or two during your visit. Moreover, the synchronous fireflies that put on an amazing show for two or three weeks during the spring months are a must-see.

There are several RV parks near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but we recommend Douglas Tailwater Campground. This affordable park offers level sites with water and electric hookups, clean bathhouses, and even a playground for kids.
Big Bend National Park
Big Bend National Park is a must-visit destination in Texas, and the spring months are the perfect time to go hiking, stargazing, and more. The park offers spectacular views that can be enjoyed all year round, but winter temperatures can get quite low, and summers in Big Bend are known for their heat.
One of the highlights of a springtime visit to Big Bend National Park is the opportunity to soak in the hot spring. Although the original bathhouse is no longer standing, visitors can take a half-mile hike to reach the warm water. The spring temperatures are perfect for a dip in the natural hot spring, making it a memorable experience for any visitor.

We highly recommend staying at the Rio Grande Village RV Campground in Big Bend National Park. This campground is located inside the park and can accommodate big rigs, making it a convenient option for RVers. Additionally, the park offers full hookups, which is a rarity in national parks. If you’re looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay during your visit to Big Bend, this RV campground is an excellent choice.
Great Sand Dunes National Park
Looking to do some springtime sledding or snowboarding? Many people head into the mountains of Colorado to do just that, but we actually recommend hitting up Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado instead.
While Great Sand Dunes won’t have any snowy slopes to offer, it does have plenty of amazing sand dunes that are ideal for sledding and even sandboarding. Sledding on the sand is equally as fun as sledding in the snow, but you won’t have to deal with the cold to enjoy this activity. Not only that, but by visiting in the spring, you can also avoid the blistering sand that is often too hot to touch in the summer months.
Where to Stay
If you’re looking for accommodations in Great Sand Dunes National Park, Pinyon Flats is a great option. That said, big rigs won’t fit well, and there are no hookups. If you’re looking for a glamping option or something for a bigger RV, try Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park.
Everglades National Park
Everglades National Park is a great destination to visit any time of year, but we recommend going in early spring to escape the heat and humidity of the summer months. March and April are still within the park’s dry season, which means fewer bugs and more wildlife sightings. Whether you’re strolling along one of the park’s boardwalks or going on a more adventurous hike, you’re sure to see plenty of birds, lizards, and alligators.
